Recorded live at the Purcell Room on 17th April 2004 in celebration of the life and music of Ken Colyer. A great souvenir of a first class evening in the company of a rare gathering of the surviving players from the second and third Ken Colyer Jazzmen - an all star line-up comprising Jim Holmes trumpet, Ed O'Donell trombone/vocal, Ian Wheeler clarinet, Acker Bilk clarinet/ vocal/dialogue, Stan Greig piano/drums, Ray Smith piano, Micky Ashman bass, Diz Disley Guitar /banjo, Peter Morcomb banjo and Colin Bowden drums. Reviews of This Recording

A very affectionate tribute.....the highlights from a concert held last April (2004) in London's Purcell Room.
Peter Bevan

I would recommend this CD if only for the opportunity to hear the wonderful drummer Colin Bowden live and at length - he is an extraordinary blending of Zutty Singleton and Baby Dodds who can kick a band along with press rolls and a booting 4/4 drive - not to be missed!
